Clinton Senior Center, RSVP to host blood drive
The Clinton Senior Center and Americorps Seniors RSVP will host a blood drive on Sept. 2 in honor of the September 11th National Day of Service.
The blood drive will be open to the public at the center at 970 E. Sedalia from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants are encouraged to make appointments at 1-800-RED-CROSS or www.redcrossblood.org, using the sponsor code RSVPClinton. Walk-ins will be accepted.
Donors can expect to spend about an hour at the center. To qualify, donors should weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good health and have any chronic medical conditions under control.
The blood drive is part of Americorps Seniors RSVP’s effort to recognize the September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance and honor the victims and heroes.
The RSVP – Retired Senior & Volunteer Program – is operated by Care Connection for
Aging Services in Henry and five other West Central Missouri counties: Benton, Cedar, Hickory, Johnson, and St. Clair.
The AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP program pairs Americans aged 55 and older with organizations making change in their communities. AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers who serve in the RSVP program may choose how, where, and when they want to serve. AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers report better health and longevity after having served their community.
