About the event
What happens when you get longtime Henry County residents together, pass around old photos, and just… listen? Magic. That’s what happened at our first Echoes of History roundtable — and we’re doing it again!
Our first gathering was a lively, wide-ranging discussion about Club Lake fishing trips, one-room schoolhouses (and an eight-month school year), Saturday nights on the square, harmless pranks pulled on newlyweds, how a local area was named “Gouge Eye,” the Katy Railroad, and a 1928 city ordinance that may still technically prohibit carnivals from coming into Clinton. Stories flowed faster than we could catch them — and we want more.
Join us on Saturday, April 18th at 10 AM, in the Adair Annex and Museum Welcome Center for our next Echoes of History roundtable. No formal agenda, no tickets required — just hot coffee, good company, and the irreplaceable stories that only you can tell. Bring a photo, a memory, or just yourself. Every voice matters. Whether you’re a lifelong resident of the area or moved here only yesterday, everyone is welcome.
History isn’t just in books or old newspapers — it’s in you. Come share it with us.
