The Henry County Library will kick off their Summer Reading Program “Oceans of Possibilities” on June 4th, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The kick-off will begin with The Party People & Theater of Mystery joining us from Pueblo, Colorado! Following the performance, all children and teens who have not registered for the 2022 Summer Reading Program online through the Beanstack application, will register with library staff. Each participant will receive a bag full of goodies! After registration the fun continues with a monster bouncy house and something to eat from the Ate1Six food truck! All activities and food are FREE OF CHARGE!!! Do not forget to BYOC (Bring Your Own Chair), and sunscreen. If you plan on getting wet, bring a towel and change of clothing!
Transportation will be provided through the Apple Bus Company for the Windsor children and families. The Bus will leave at 9:30 AM from the Lenora Blackmore Branch, 105 W Benton St, Windsor, MO 65360.
This program is designed to prevent children and teens from losing their reading skills over the summer, to encourage life-long reading habits, and to draw in kids who are reluctant to read. Of course, we will have many fun activities and presenters to keep the kids entertained! These events will foster and promote the enjoyment, fun, and learning done through reading! ALL PROGRAM ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS ARE FREE OF CHARGE!

“Any book that helps a child to form a habit of reading, to make reading one of their deep and continuing needs is good for them” – Maya Angelou
HENRY COUNTY LIBRARY INTRODUCES BEANSTACK
The Henry County Library has teamed up with Beanstack, a web and mobile application used to track independent reading time and help build a culture of reading in school and at home. We want to make it easier for you to help children track reading and stay motivated, as well as to provide insights about reading habits at your school.
For the Summer Reading Challenge, we will count reading minutes and challenges logged from June 4 – August 6, 2022. We challenge the youth to read at least 800 minutes during the challenge and keep track of their reading on our Beanstack site at henrycolib.beanstack.org, launching June 1, 2022.
Though out the reading challenge, the readers will have a chance to earn scratch off tickets. Each ticket will be entered into a grand prize drawing! These prizes have been donated from different companies throughout the state of Missouri!

“Our nomination as a CODiE Award finalist is a testament to our company-wide values of love, inclusion, hard work, and awesomeness,” co-founder and CEO Felix Brandon Lloyd said. “We bring these values into every aspect of the Beanstack product to foster a culture of reading in communities across the country and around the globe. This recognition adds fuel to the fire of our mission to help motivate more people to read—and to read more.”
