WEEKLY UPDATE FROM THE GREATER CLINTON-AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE/BY DAVID LEE-DIRECTOR: 7/7/23

Olde Glory Days has come and gone for another year.  Other than the game and The Rock Gods being canceled Sat. night due to the lightning and rain, it seems like everything went pretty smooth.  So many people to thank but if I start to name them, I’m sure I will forget some, so to those that know who I am talking about; THANKS!!  We’ve already started plans for 2024 Olde Glory Days!  Quite a few folks showed up to our post-event picnic and several notes were taken on what went right and what we can do better.  YOU CAN BE INVOLVED:  Just call the Clinton Chamber at 660-885-8166 and tell us how you would like to volunteer!

It’s now time to get back to a program I love to do, “Featured with David Lee”.  I can interview an owner, manager, etc. of a business or take pictures of a business.  These go on our Facebook page and are brought to the top once a week for a month.  I had to pause these videos and photos during June due to working just about full time on Olde Glory Days, but I am looking forward to once again getting out and about and visiting our Chamber members.

The Agriculture Committee of the Greater Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce would like to invite businesses, groups, clubs, organizations, etc. to be a sponsor of the Ag golf tournament. Last year, the committee raised enough money to give away three-$1,000 scholarships to college students from Henry County, and we have set the same high goal for this year.  The Ag Committee is asking that you consider being a hole sponsor for $100 and participating in our golf tournament again this year. If you would like to know more info on being a sponsor or entering a team in the tournament, call 660-885-8166.

On Sat., June 24th, 54 disc golf players made a trip to Clinton, Missouri to try their skills on the Artesian Park Disc Golf Course. The 1st Olde Glory Days Open was brought to you courtesy of the Greater Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce. David Lee, Chamber & Tourism Director, asked me, Russ Burns, several months ago to make Clinton a stop on the tour. David, the chamber, the parks department, Tim Komer and local professional player Micah Noble, all partnered with the Disc Golf Monkey to make it happen. A big thanks to all of them for their financial support, time, and efforts in making this event happen.
