David Lee, Joyce Carr and Mark Dawson at the Clinton Chamber would like to wish everyone a Happy and Healthy New Year. They would like to thank Adam Cummings (American Family Insurance) for his Presidency of the Chamber in 2023 and they are all looking forward to working with Amber Hansen (Seeds of Faith Preschool) as she becomes Chamber President for 2024. David, Joyce and Mark are excited to work with Amber and the Board of Directors as they strive to make this Chamber stronger year after year. Employees of the Chamber would also like to thank outgoing Board members Larry Dawson (Hawthorn Bank), Tim Deskins (White River Marine Group), Bruce Limpus (Schreiber Foods), and Jim Smith (OakStar Bank)…and welcome Steve Bradley (Bradley and Hadley Funeral Home), Matt Douglas (Schreiber Foods), John French (Price Cutter) and Logan Modlin (Mike Keith Insurance) as they begin their new terms on the Chamber Board. Clinton Chamber of Commerce Board members for 2024 will be Kyle Adkins (GVMH), Steve Bradley, Adam Cummings, Daniel Dody (Dody Legacy Group), Matt Douglas, John French, Tonya Gilley (Bucksaw Resort and Marina)(President-elect), Amber Hansen, Sabrina Harris (TC-Transcontinental), Jim Huenefeldt (A&K Railroad Materials), Logan Modlin, and Jeff Stone (W & S Doors). All are looking forward to a great 2024! Stacy Hinkle with Bernard Tax and Bookkeeping, Christy Maggi from the City of Clinton and Roger House from the City Council will also continue to provide their services to the Chamber in 2024.

The Chamber is done giving away money…for right now. Congrats to our seven weekly winners of $25 in Chamber gift certificates and today’s winner of $200 in gift certificates with our annual Receipt to Receive promotion. We also gave away two t-shirts on the 22nd! Thanks to all those that participated.

On Tuesday evening this week, I (David Lee) presented my bi-monthly report to the Clinton City Council and on Wed., I recorded our weekly Chamber Chat that airs on KDKD FM each Thursday.

Easy to buy…easy to use…and you’re helping out local businesses. You can either call in, email your order, or stop by the Chamber for Chamber gift certificates. These gift certificates can be used at more than 300 local businesses and they don’t expire for a year from the purchase date!

We are “Featuring” our Chamber members! On the Chamber’s Facebook page, we are taking text and images from our member’s websites, Facebook pages, Google searches, etc. and combining them into posts on our Facebook page. “Featured with the GCACC”. It gives the viewer a “one-stop shopping experience” for each of our Chamber members. We have a lot of Chamber members so getting every business on our page will take quite a while, but we think it’s well worth it! It’s just another service from YOUR Chamber of Commerce. Recently, we “Featured” GOLDEN VALLEY CHRISTIAN CHURCH…LOGAN’S HEATING AND COOLING…LIFEFLIGHT EAGLE…GOLDEN VALLEY DOOR OF HOPE…GOLDEN VALLEY REALTY GROUP…LEGACY MEMORIALS…LEGACY BANK AND TRUST…GOLDEN VALLEY SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH.

Do you like to sing? Would you like to make new friends? A Community Choir, led by Mark and Gay Smith, is being formed with practices beginning February 1, 2024. Practices will last 90 minutes each Thursday evening and be held at Clinton First Presbyterian church for six-to-eight weeks. There will be a performance open to the public in April.  Everyone is welcome! In order to get a head count of how many people to expect, organizers are asking that you sign up. You will be asked for your name, phone, email address, and if you sing soprano, alto, tenor, or bass. Please email clintoncommunitychoir@gmail.com for a sign-up form or call Diane Hannah at 660-885-1875 if you have questions. Please return the completed form to clintoncommunitychoir@gmail.com. This effort is being led by First Presbyterian Church but all in the community are invited to participate.  We look forward to hearing from you!

Clinton Animal Shelter-We still have some sponsorships available!! Help a homeless pet by sponsoring a kennel or even a play yard. We currently have 8 Friends of the Felines, 1 Protector Dog Kennel, 8 Hero Dog Kennels and 2 Outdoor Play Yards still waiting for a sponsor. Plaques are going up now.
