Missouri SBDC at SFCC to offer Business Succession Planning Webinar 

Sedalia, Mo. – Feb. 21, 2025 – The Missouri Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at State Fair Community College will offer a webinar titled Future-Proof Your Business: Succession Planning Simplified on March 13 from 1-4 p.m. The online training costs $49, and participants will receive a Zoom link upon registration.

This workshop will help business owners plan for a smooth transition and ensure their family business continues successfully. Topics will include recognizing the importance of succession planning, understanding common exit strategies, organizing a succession planning team, and preparing for generational shifts in the workforce.

Key objectives of the webinar include:

• Understanding when to begin the succession planning process
• Defining four common business exit strategies: selling, takeover/gifting, liquidation, and closure
• Organizing a succession planning team
• Recognizing generational characteristics in the workforce
• Developing and implementing a succession plan, considering both business and human elements
