We had a large turnout for the Grand Opening of The Game Box. There was cake, cookies, photos (check out the Chamber’s Facebook page), the ribbon cutting and more. The Game Box is at 207 S. Washington, Clinton 660-924-8049 www.thegamebox.com The Game Box is a family-owned game store that buys, sells, and trades cards, table top games, and RPGs. Their Grand Opening was Tuesday, July 18th at 4:00pm.
The 30th Annual Clinton Chamber of Commerce Ag Scholarship Fundraising Golf Tournament was held this past Sat. at the Clinton Country Club. A great turnout of golfers, sponsors, volunteers and more. Thanks to the Country Club, Dillion Creek Bar and Grill, C Squared, the Ag Committee, Stan Hall, golfers, sponsors, Josh Williams Reel Time Photography and many, many more!! This tournament helps raise funds needed so the Ag Committee can continue to give out scholarships to students pursuing a career in an ag-related field.
It’s now time to get back to a program I love to do, “Featured with David Lee”. I can interview an owner, manager, etc. of a business or take pictures of a business. These go on our Facebook page and are brought to the top once a week for a month. I had to pause these videos and photos during June due to working just about full time on Olde Glory Days, but I am looking forward to once again getting out and about and visiting our Chamber members.
Breakfast with the Grinch. Sat., July 22nd from 8am till 3pm at the Clinton Sr. Center, 970 East Sedalia Ave. Grab a selfie with the Grinch form 8 till 10am. Adults, $10…Kids under 11, $5. Scrambled eggs, sausage and pancakes during this Christmas in July event. Rummage sale open to the public from 8 till 3. Proceeds benefit programs for older adults in Clinton.
The Wonders of Wildlife Museum and Aquarium will be at the Henry County Library this Saturday at 2:30pm with their presentation “Let’s Stick Together” featuring Live Animals! Birds of a feather, stick together! Grab your friends and explore amazing animals that love staying together. In the EDventure you’ll want to pull your friends close as we learn about the importance of all sticking together.
Heartland Community Theatre is pleased to announce the latest edition of our upcoming Sunday monthly movie matinee at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 23rd, 2023. This month’s feature presentation is “The Long, Long Trailer” (1954), in Technicolor, starring Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, with Marjorie Main and Keenan Wynn. Admission is always FREE for this monthly event, along with gourmet popcorn and beverages. Heartland Community Theatre, 108 North Washington, Clinton.
Cruisin’ to Clinton is coming up again Aug. 12th. All rides are welcome. Live DJ…Raffle…Give Aways…Food Trucks…Shaved Ice…Drinks and more from 4 till 7pm. West Central achieves recognition, announces new initiatives, celebrates 58 years (Appleton City, Missouri, July 18, 2023) –This week West Central Missouri Community Action Agency (“West Central”) celebrates 58 years since its incorporation on July 19, 1965. With a long history of service to its nine-county region, the organization continues to implement new programs that assist and advance families and communities and has been recognized for its commitment to excellence. Recently named one of only four community action agencies in the nation to gain “Silver” recognition in the Pathways to Excellence (PTE) program, West Central is currently working toward “Gold” accreditation. PTE is a Malcom Baldridge National Quality Award for excellence in management systems coordinated by the National Community Action Partnership.
