WEEKLY UPDATE FROM THE GREATER CLINTON-AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE/BY DAVID LEE-DIRECTOR:  4.10.26

Welcome new Clinton Chamber of Commerce Member; Miss Golden Valley Scholarship Organization

The Miss Golden Valley Scholarship Org. is an official preliminary to Miss Missouri, which is Missouri’s official preliminary to the historic Miss American Pageant.

For more than 100 years, Miss America has empowered women to achieve their education goals, awarding over $5 billion in scholarships nationwide. Miss Golden Valley proudly contributes to that legacy by providing scholarship opportunities, leadership development, and a platform for young women’s dreams.

Through competition, mentorship, and service, our title holders gain invaluable life skills-public speaking, confidence, discipline, and professional networking-while making a difference in their communities. Our organization is 100% volunteer driven and funded through local support. Join us as we bring the magic of Miss American to the Golden Valley.

The 38th Annual Clinton Society for Academic Excellence Awards Ceremony was held yesterday evening (4/8) in the Clinton High School Gymnasium.

Academic Excellence celebrates students who have achieved a 3.5 or higher grade point average for the current school year.

This year, students are being honored at CHS and Clinton Christian Academy, including 98 graduating seniors from both schools. There are also 45 seniors at CHS, and five at CCA that achieved Academic Excellence for all four years in high school.

Students are recognized with a medal and a different color ribbon, depending on what year of school they are currently in. Seniors that achieve Academic Excellence all four years receive a larger medal with a gold ribbon. Those ribbons for CHS were presented last night…CCA ribbons will be awarded next month at their end-of-year ceremonies.

This past Monday on the Chamber’s Facebook page, from entries received, the Chamber randomly selected our five scholarship winners…four from CHS and one from CCA. Those scholarships are worth $500 each. The four from CHS include ISAAC DUNCAN…ETHAN JOHNS…MARKUS OLIVER…CLARA YUTZEY. The scholarship winner from CCA is MASON PLUMB.

To the students, parents, facility and administration, our sponsors of Academic Excellence, and others…we would like to thank these folks for their continued support of the Clinton Chamber’s Academic Excellence program.

Kelly Griffey Photography was taking pictures of last night’s program. She has posted those photos on her photography’s Facebook page; https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063739474446 and we have shared those pictures on the Chamber’s Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/ClintonMO/
